What You'll Do
• Model Complex Movement Patterns: Design and build sophisticated models to understand the "pattern of life" for devices within a physical environment from sparse, real-time data. Your work will form the baseline for what’s normal, and therefore, what’s suspicious.
• Uncover Device & Group Relationships: Develop novel algorithms to identify and cluster devices that move and behave together. This is key to distinguishing between known groups (like a family on vacation or a team of employees) and un-associated devices, which is critical for both security and intelligence contexts.
• Build Next-Generation Threat Detection: Go beyond simple rules-based systems. You will architect and implement dynamic, self-learning models that detect subtle anomalies in device behavior, flagging previously undetectable threats like reconnaissance, unauthorized access, and coordinated activity.
• Innovate and Research: Proactively research and apply state-of-the-art techniques from academia and industry in areas like sequence analysis, unsupervised learning, and graph analytics. You will be expected to experiment, prototype, and champion new ideas that can be practically implemented to give us a competitive edge.
• Own the End-to-End ML Pipeline: Take full ownership of the process, from feature engineering and data exploration on our real-time streams to model training, validation, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring in a production environment.

• Advanced degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, AI) or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models to solve complex problems.
• Expertise in Python and its core data science/ML ecosystem (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas).
• Strong, demonstrable experience working with time-series data. Experience with location-based or geospatial data is a major plus.
• Deep understanding of the theory and practical application of machine learning algorithms, especially in unsupervised learning (clustering), sequence modeling, and anomaly detection.
• Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and MLOps best practices.
