An experienced and highly technical Lead SAP HANA Data Engineer to spearhead a critical modernization initiative. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing data and analytics team to optimize complex SAP HANA models and lead the seamless migration of views from SAP HANA BDP (Business Data Platform) to Google BigQuery (GCP).
The ideal candidate possesses deep, nuanced knowledge of SAP HANA’s inner workings and performance tuning methods. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between legacy SAP environments and modern cloud data architectures using Python, BigQuery tools, and Apache Airflow, while mentoring a talented team through this transformation.
*Core Objective
Partner with the existing data engineering team to audit, optimize, and successfully migrate graphical and SQL views from SAP HANA BDP into a highly performant Google BigQuery environment.
*Key Responsibilities:
- Migration & Data Engineering:
Lead the architectural design and execution of migrating data models from SAP HANA BDP to Google BigQuery.
Develop, deploy, and manage data pipelines using Python scripting and orchestrate workflows utilizing Apache Airflow.
Leverage native BigQuery (BQ) tools to recreate, optimize, and manage cloud-based data warehouses.
- SAP HANA Optimization & Development:
Audit, refactor, and optimize complex Graphical Views, SQL Views, and DB Procedures in SAP HANA.
Utilize VizPlan and other native profiling tools to analyze execution plans, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement advanced view optimization methods.
Navigate and leverage deep knowledge of SAP HANA idiosyncrasies to ensure data integrity and performance parity during migration.
Review and deconvolute ABAP code, CDS Views, and OData services to facilitate extraction from SAP HNAD and integration into the BQ ecosystem.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
Act as a technical leader, guiding the existing team through best practices in both SAP HANA performance tuning and BigQuery data engineering.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

YÊU CẦU CÔNG VIỆC
- Experience: 5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in SAP HANA data modelling, architecture as well as conversant with SAP EWN, BW and BTP systems.
- Deep HANA Expertise: Extensive experience building and optimizing both Graphical Views and SQL Views, as well as writing complex DB Procedures. Must possess a deep understanding of HANA’s execution engines, behavioral idiosyncrasies, and advanced optimization methods (including heavy usage of VizPlan).
- SAP Development: Strong functional and technical knowledge of ABAP, CDS Views, and OData services, with operational experience in S2 / S/4HANA environments.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in team leadership, code reviewing, and mentoring developers through complex migration projects.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex SAP data structures into highly optimized cloud-native formats.
- Cloud & Modern Data Stack: Proven experience with Google BigQuery tools, Python scripting, and Apache Airflow for data pipeline orchestration.
