Senior Solution Architect - Remote

We are seeking a senior Solution Architect to lead the assessment, architecture, planning, and technical governance of a business-critical legacy-platform modernization program. The platform is primarily built on C, legacy Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Oracle. The program includes operating-system modernization, compatibility remediation, stronger testing and deployment practices, and migration to AWS. The initial assignment is a 1-2 month technical valuation of the existing proposal. Subject to approval, the engagement may continue through the implementation phase for 1-2 years.

• Assess the C application estate, Linux environment, system libraries, build processes, Oracle dependencies, integrations, transaction processing, nightly jobs, and deployment model

• Define and validate the RHEL 4 to AlmaLinux 9 modernization approach

• Identify code, compiler, package, library, runtime, database, and operating-system compatibility issues

• Define the target architecture and phased modernization roadmap

• Lead AWS migration architecture and planning, including infrastructure, networking, security, identity, availability, observability, backup, disaster recovery, deployment, cutover, and rollback

• Define development, testing, regression, performance, security, and production-validation strategies

• Identify practical AI assistance for source analysis, compatibility scanning, remediation, documentation, and testing, and separate validated efficiencies from assumptions

• Define workstreams, resource needs, sequencing, customer responsibilities, dependencies, and risks

• Provide technical inputs for the revised effort estimate, delivery timeline, staffing plan, and commercial proposal

• Lead technical workshops and communicate recommendations to engineering, delivery, commercial, and executive stakeholders

• Provide architecture governance during implementation if the program proceeds

• 12+ years of professional technology experience, including 7+ years in senior solution, application, platform, cloud, or enterprise architecture roles

• Proven leadership of complex legacy-platform modernization or migration programs

• Strong hands-on C experience in enterprise or business-critical systems

• Deep Linux expertise, including operating-system upgrades, packages, dependencies, compilers, system libraries, shell tooling, build processes, and production troubleshooting

• Experience modernizing applications on outdated or unsupported Linux environments

• Strong Oracle application and migration knowledge

• Proven AWS architecture and migration experience

• Experience assessing monolithic systems and defining pragmatic phased modernization strategies

• Strong understanding of build systems, CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, cutover, and rollback

• Ability to turn incomplete technical information into explicit assumptions, risks, decisions, and estimation inputs

• Strong customer-facing workshop leadership and written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive, automotive-retail, dealer-management, mobility, manufacturing, or transportation experience

• AlmaLinux or modern RHEL experience

• C or native-code modernization experience

• Oracle-backed monolithic platform experience

• AWS batch-workload and nightly-job migration experience

• Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation

• Blue-green, canary, rolling, or other low-risk deployment strategies

• AI-assisted code analysis, remediation, documentation, testing, or migration experience

• Experience evaluating AI productivity assumptions for delivery estimates

• Relevant AWS, Linux, Oracle, security, or architecture certifications
