Platform Architecture & Governance

• Define and maintain the ServiceNow architecture strategy and roadmap.

• Establish technical governance, architecture principles and standards.

• Drive architecture review and design authority processes.

• Own solution consistency across all ServiceNow modules.

• Define integration and data architecture standards.

• Ensure platform scalability, maintainability and security.

Strategic Leadership

• Help build the ServiceNow capability within the organization.

• Influence long-term platform direction and decision-making.

• Challenge legacy approaches and promote standardization.

• Drive adoption of ServiceNow best practices and out-of-the-box capabilities.

• Act as technical authority for ServiceNow-related decisions.

ServiceNow Solution Architecture

Design and govern solutions across modules including:

• ITSM

• CSM

• IRM / Risk

• GRC

• Privacy

• HRSD

• CMDB / CSDM

Stakeholder Management

• Translate business requirements into platform architecture decisions.

• Explain architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Lead workshops and architecture discussions.

• Cooperate with implementation vendors while retaining architectural ownership on the client side.

Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide ServiceNow developers.

• Conduct solution and technical reviews.

• Establish engineering standards and development practices.

• Support future growth of the ServiceNow team.

Ideal Background

• ServiceNow Platform Architect

• ServiceNow Solution Architect

• Enterprise Service Management Architect

• Technical Architect

• Platform Governance Architect

Most importantly:

• Experience as an internal architect within an organization, not only as an external implementation consultant

• Ownership of platform governance and standards

• Experience operating in complex enterprise environments

• Experience defining architecture strategy and long-term platform direction

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Experience working with enterprise architecture and design authorities

• Greenfield platform implementation experience

• Experience with highly regulated environments (banking, finance, insurance, healthcare, public sector preferred)

• Experience leading technical teams

Experience limited to implementation projects only is generally not sufficient for this role.
