Site Reliability Engineer - Remote

Design and operate metric, log, and trace pipelines on OpenTelemetry Collector.

Build Kubernetes fault injection (chaos) environments and automatically reproduce incident scenarios.

Design storage for Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo; optimize retention, label cardinality, and cost.

Design telemetry schemas based on the OpenTelemetry Semantic Conventions.

Establish standards for timestamp/timezone normalization, service naming, and label cardinality.

Build pipelines for deduplication and PII/secret masking.

Automate schema validation and evidence-link validation.

Manage artifact storage and dataset version control using DVC, MLflow, or similar tools.

Separate storage for raw data and processed data; implement RBAC and audit logging.

Ensure the immutability of the Evidence Ledger through append-only architecture, hash chaining, and object locking.

4+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering in production environments.

Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes at scale, beyond simply deploying applications.

Deep experience with OpenTelemetry Collector, including configuring processor pipelines and understanding the trade-offs between different exporter types.

Hands-on experience operating Prometheus and at least one log/trace backend such as Loki, Tempo, Mimir, or Elasticsearch.

Experience troubleshooting issues related to excessive label cardinality or uncontrolled storage costs, with the ability to explain the root cause and resolution.

Proficiency in Go or Python, with the ability to develop custom components.
