GenAI Engineer - Remote

About the project:
We are looking for a GenAI Engineer to join the engineering team of an InsurTech client. You will be responsible for designing and building GenAI-powered applications and agentic workflows that integrate with the client's core platform, while also contributing to the broader fullstack engineering effort. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI and product engineering - you'll take GenAI concepts from prototype to production within a real-world insurance technology product.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy GenAI-powered applications and agentic workflows using LangChain/LangGraph/PydanticAI.

• Architect and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for domain-specific knowledge retrieval.

• Apply core GenAI concepts (context management, token optimization, prompt design, temperature tuning, hallucination mitigation) to build reliable, production-grade AI features.

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs (Node.js, NestJS, Express) to support AI orchestration and integration with existing systems.

• Contribute to frontend development (ReactJS/NextJS) when needed to deliver end-to-end features.

• Work with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases to support application and AI data needs.

• Deploy and manage applications using Docker/containerization on AWS (or equivalent cloud platforms).

• Write unit and integration tests (Jest/Playwright/Cypress/Pytest) to ensure code quality and reliability.

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with hands-on GenAI application development as a core focus.

• Know-how of the AWS technology stacks and services.

• Familiar with other cloud providers and technology is a plus.

• Experience with Docker and Containerization.

• Experience working with Node.js, ReactJS, NextJS, NestJS, Typescript, MERN equivalent stacks.

• Experience working with building GenAI applications and have experience with GenAI Knowledge, such as. Context, Token, Completions, Temperature, RAG, Hallucination, etc.

• Experience working with LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI and Python.

• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.

• Experience working with Relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

• Experience working with Unit Testing tools such as Jest/Playwright/Cypress/Pytest, etc.

• Knowledge in source code repository and branching models in Git and usage of tools such as GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket etc.

• Working knowledge of Agile and/or Lean methodologies along with tools such as Confluence, JIRA and Sharepoint.

• Language requirement: Fluent English communication (level C1+)

Preferred:

• Prior experience in InsurTech, FinTech, or other regulated/data-sensitive industries.

• Experience with AI observability, evaluation, and monitoring frameworks.

• Familiarity with AI safety, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.

• Experience working directly with client stakeholders in a remote, async-first environment.
