We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design and build an end-to-end pipeline that turns enterprise documents (Office files, PDFs, scans, and diagrams) into structured, citable data for search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
You will work on a project for a Japanese client, with PaddleOCR-VL as the core OCR engine. The role covers architecture, model evaluation, diagram-understanding prototypes, and close technical communication with the client.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design the system architecture end to end: ingestion, OCR, post-processing, VLM, output schema, and the interface to search/RAG.
Evaluate PaddleOCR-VL on Japanese documents and resolve the Chinese character substitution issue.
Prototype VLM-based diagram understanding for floor plans, flowcharts, and cloud architecture diagrams.
Build evaluation sets and measure accuracy, latency, and cost.
Write technical reports and present findings to the client.
YÊU CẦU CÔNG VIỆC
5+ years of experience in AI/ML, including production pipeline design.
Hands-on experience with OCR/layout models and VLMs (PaddleOCR, Qwen-VL, or similar).
Solid RAG design skills: chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, and reranking.
Strong Python; experience with GPU serving (vLLM), search engines, and vector databases.
Good written English.
